Update on DIAS accreditation report processing timeframes

Services Australia has announced important changes to the processing of LSPN (Location Specific Practice Number) record updates following accreditation notifications. These changes may impact Diagnostic Imaging (DI) providers, particularly in relation to Medicare claiming.

To ensure LSPN records accurately reflect accreditation status and avoid disruptions to Medicare payments, DI practices must:

• Submit their self-assessment early – ideally 3–4 months before their accreditation expiry date.
• Ensure their accreditation report is submitted at least 5 days before their expiry date to allow processing time for their LSPN record update.

Failure to meet these timeframes may result in accreditation status delays, impacting Medicare claims.
