Review of the QIC Health and Community Service Standards – 7th Edition (v1.1)
At QIP, we’re committed to maintaining the highest standards in health and community services.
The QIC Health and Community Services (QIC) Standards are reviewed regularly in line with the QIC Standards Development and Review Policy and the globally recognised Guidelines and Principles for the Development of Health and Social Care Standards (5th Edition), developed by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua). These rigorous review processes ensure the QIC Standards continue to reflect world best practice.
In 2025, the QIC Standards 7th Edition (v1.1) will undergo a major review. This review will evaluate the applicability of the QIC Standards and identify potential areas for enhancement to ensure they remain relevant, practical, and forward-thinking.
Review process
The review of the QIC Standards will follow a structured, inclusive process that incorporates stakeholder feedback at every stage.
The key steps include:
- Stakeholder engagement: Gathering input from a diverse range of voices in the sector.
- Initial consultation phase: Identifying priorities and key focus areas.
- Development of draft standards: Incorporating insights and best practices.
- Consultation on draft standards: Seeking further feedback on proposed changes.
- Refinement of standards: Ensuring clarity, relevance, and applicability.
- Pilot testing: Validating standards in real-world settings.
- Further refinement: Incorporating pilot feedback.
- Development of support tools: Creating resources to assist with implementation.
- Transition planning: Preparing for a smooth rollout.
- Official standards launch: Announcing and implementing the updated standards.
As we move throughout this process we’ll be sure to provide updates along the way.
Your input matters
Stakeholder input is vital to the success of this review process. QIP will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including accredited community health services and assessors, to gather valuable insights.
In the coming months we’ll distribute a survey to our clients and assessors to gather feedback on the current QIC Standards and explore potential new areas for inclusion. We encourage our QIC Standards clients and assessors to participate and share their perspectives.
Together, we can ensure the QIC Standards remain a benchmark for excellence in health and community services organisations.
