NSQHS Standards report released October 2014

The mandatory implementation of national standards for improving the safety and quality of healthcare in Australia is producing promising results and generating widespread engagement and support. The implementation of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, together with the introduction of the Australian Health Service Safety and Quality Accreditation Scheme, is an unprecedented, transformational effort to improve health care across the country.
The recently released report, based on interviews with stakeholders and data from 2013, provides a summary of the progress of the Australian Safety and Quality Accreditation Scheme and highlights the encouraging signs that the implementation of the NSQHS Standards is leading to improvements in patient care and service delivery.
