AGPAL Group appoints new CEO
As part of the AGPAL Group of Companies, we’re excited to share our Board’s appointment of our new CEO, Adj. Associate Professor Tina Janamian.
Adj. Associate Professor Tina Janamian is the successor of Dr Stephen Clark, who has served as our Group CEO for the past fifteen years.
AGPAL Chair Dr Richard Choong advised that Adj. Associate Professor Janamian was chosen following an extensive and extremely competitive selection process.
“Dr Janamian is an experienced leader with an exceptional understanding of the Australian health and community service sectors. Her vision, commercial smarts, commitment and passion for enhancing person-centred care and continuous quality improvement make her the strongest candidate to lead the Group in its next stage of evolution,” he said.
QIP Chair Mr Gary Smith agreed and commended Dr Janamian by stating, “Dr Janamian has made a significant contribution to improving primary health care and the success of the AGPAL group with her work in health care transformation and, more recently, as CEO of CFEP Surveys and Care Opinion”.
The transition date is today, 31 January 2023, with Dr Clark remaining with the Group until his retirement date of 01 July 2023 to ensure a smooth transition.
During Dr Clark’s 15-year tenure as Group CEO of the AGPAL Group of Companies, he has grown the AGPAL Group to include the provision of accreditation, quality improvement and survey services across the entire continuum to more than 20,000 health and community services nationally.
Dr Choong expressed appreciation stating, “The considerable reach that our Group now has in supporting the quality and safety of services available to communities across Australia is due to Steve’s vision and leadership. The Boards are indebted to Steve for leading our companies and staff through multiple mergers and, indeed, the significant change during COVID”.
Mr Smith also acknowledged Dr Clark’s contribution to improving quality and safety in healthcare.
“Steve has been instrumental in driving accreditation at a national and global level, as recognised by being honoured with an International Society for Quality in Health Care Lifetime Membership Award last year. It is comforting to see the leadership baton being passed to Dr Janamian, who is equally devoted to health care improvement and transformation,” he said.
Please join us and the rest of the QIP Team in congratulating Tina on her new role.
As we near Steve’s retirement we’ll be sure to share highlights from his career and provide an opportunity for those of you to send your well wishes as he embarks on this new adventure in his life.
