Honorary Doctor of Letters honoris causa awarded to QIP Chair Gary Smith

Congratulations to QIP Chair Gary Smith for receiving an Honorary Doctor of Letters honoris causa (HonDLitt) from the University of New England (UNE). Gary was officially presented with his HonDLItt on Saturday 30 April 2022.

Gary has made an outstanding contribution to the primary healthcare sector for more than 30 years. He has a wealth of experience in general practice management and is selflessly committed to sharing his knowledge to advance the profession in Australia and overseas.

In addition to being chair of Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP), Gary is also on the board for Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) and manages a large General Practice in Penrith NSW. He also sits on several advisory and working groups at the Commonwealth Government level.
