AGPAL & QIP proud to support White Ribbon mission
AGPAL and QIP are proud to support the mission of White Ribbon, Australia’s only national, male led Campaign to end men’s violence against women. Today (25 November) is White Ribbon Day which signals the start of the 16 Days of Activism to Stop Violence against Women, which ends on Human Rights Day (December 10).
We are delighted to announce that family violence campaigner, 2015 Australian of the Year and the Pride of Australia’s National Courage Medal recipient, Rosie Batty, has just confirmed her involvement as one of our plenary speakers at our AGPAL and QIP 2016 Conference (26 to 28 May 2016). Rosie is a leader in the crusade against domestic violence and has turned her personal tragedy into a fight to help others. Rosie’s name became synonymous with the words courage and resilience. Only hours after her son’s life was tragically taken, Rosie gave voice to many thousands of victims of domestic violence who had until then remained unheard.
As part of her tireless campaigning efforts, Rosie established The Luke Batty Foundation and has this year launched the Never Alone Campaign, asking all Australians to stand with her and beside all victims of family violence by signing up at neveralone.com.au.
Rosie’s incredible strength and selfless efforts are an inspiration to many people and we look forward to supporting her on her campaign to stand beside all victims of family violence.
